Brightlight Health SMS consent process

This page documents the voluntary opt-in flow used for Brightlight Health's transactional SMS program. It is publicly available so patients, carriers, and compliance reviewers can verify the consent experience without accessing a patient account.

How patients opt in

  1. A patient enters a mobile phone number when creating their account or confirms it under Information and Contact.
  2. The patient signs in to the Brightlight patient portal and opens Security and Preferences.
  3. The patient reviews the SMS disclosure shown below.
  4. The patient actively turns on the separate Text messages control, which is off by default.

The switch is off by default for new patients. SMS consent is optional, is separate from the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and is not required to create an account, book an appointment, purchase services, or receive care.

Off by default - no text messages

By enabling text messages, you agree to receive transactional SMS from Brightlight Health about appointments, billing, and account activity. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to receive care.

This public example represents the mobile-number and consent steps in the authenticated patient portal. The example does not submit or retain phone numbers or consent choices.

Messages and consent records

  • Messages are transactional and may concern appointments, billing, or account activity.
  • Brightlight does not use this consent for marketing messages.
  • The consent source, disclosure version, and date are recorded when a patient opts in.

How patients opt out or get help

Patients can reply STOP to opt out or turn off Text messages in the patient portal. Reply HELP for help or contact info@brightlight.ai.
